If you're even a fringe horror movie fan, you've probably heard of the 1958 classic film starring Steve McQueen called "The Blob." A portion of the film, where moviegoers run out of a theater (pictured above), was filmed at The Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. Each year, the theater hosts Blobfest to celebrate the titular film and other classics while recreating the town's featured scene from the movies. Per the Blobfest's Facebook page, the lineup for 2024 includes "The Blob" (1958), "The Blob" (1988), "Beware! The Blob", "The Creature from the Black Lagoon" (3D), and "Fluido Mortale" (The Blob ‘58 en Español). Follow the Facebook page and website for showtimes! "Blobfest" 2024, which also marks its 25th year, will be held from July 12th through the 14th.
